Terry Alan Garrison, age 71, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. Terry was born in Carter County to the late Jack A. Garrison and Edith Marie West Garrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joanie Marie Smith; and a sister-in-law, Linda Kay Garrison.

Terry was a loving brother and a giving friend to all that knew him. He had worked at Eastman Chemical Company as a Quality Control Operator, having served as a loyal and dedicated employee for 31 years. Terry was a member of Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was also a huge Elizabethton Cyclones and Tennessee Vols fan.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memories include his brothers, Jack W. Garrsion, of Elizabethton and Danny Ray Garrison and wife Lana, of Watauga, TN; a brother-in-law, David Eugene Smith, of Elizabethton; and aunt, Louise Shatley; and his special friends, Maynard Peters, Curtis Hudson, Mary Lynn Hudson, Bert Jarrett, Elvie Jarrett, George Ross and Dave Mottern. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Terry Alan Garrison will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Steve Harris, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in the chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.

The graveside service will follow in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be John Miller, Dustin Miller, Mark Garrison, Jeff Garrison, Daniel Garrison and Bert Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hyder, Maynard Peters, Curtis Hudson, Dave Mottern, Lee Owens and Marcus Garrison.

The family would like to request that all in attendance wear Cyclone or Tennessee Vols attire, in lieu of dress attire, in honor of Terry’s love for his favorite teams.

The family would like to especially thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Johnson City Medical Center and Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton for the love and care shown to Terry during his illness.
