Thelma Slagle Swanson, age 57, of Elizabethton passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Rogersville to the late Dr. David Slagle and Amy Lavonn Slagle. Thelma was a member of Eastside Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, swimming, walking, eating out and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Shirley Slagle Tweed and brother, John David Slagle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Greg Swanson, of the home; sister, Lisa Slagle, of Hampton; niece, Stefanie Slagle, nephew, David Adam Slagle and great-nephew, Townes.
A service to celebrate the life of Thelma Swanson will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Reverend Justin Deaton and Reverend Doug Hinshaw officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sabrina Keller. The family will receive friends between the hours of 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM prior to the service on Wednesday.
The graveside service and interment will follow in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected by family and friends.
