Trula Elizabeth Haley of Butler, Tennessee, 79, passed away on March 3, 2021 after a sudden illness. She was born in Doeville/Butler, Tennessee on August 25, 1941 to Louise and Karl Pleasant. A graduate of Johnson County High School, she went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee with a Business degree in 1962. She spent most of her career running her own successful corporate recruiting business. Recently, she served as a board member of the Butler Museum. She was a much loved mother, stepmother, and grandmother. Trula was a former member of Little Doe Baptist Church.
She is survived by her fiancé, Sidney T. Smithdeal. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Samuel Adams, Jr.; her son and daughter-in law J.W. “Scotty” and Kaci Scott; stepdaughter and son-in-law Dawn and David Francescon; stepson and daughter-in-law Rich and Katerina Haley; granddaughters Elizabeth (Chris) McElyea, Holly Adams, Rebecca Adams, Jennifer (Daniel) Childs, and Paige (Rusty) Denson, Sofia Haley, and Grace Haley. She is also survived by two brothers, Dick Pleasant and Michael Pleasant, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Kreg Smith officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Sunday will be: Samuel Adams, Jr., Chris McElyea, Jody Pleasant, J.W. Scott, David Arbelaez and Jordan Robertson. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
