Vada Buckles Moore, age 85, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Hillview Health Center of Elizabethton. Vada was born in Carter County, Tennessee to the late Oscar and Jeannie Massengill Buckles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Moore; one daughter, Donna Puckett; seven brothers, J.T. Buckles, Jack Buckles, Luther Buckles, Dewey Buckles, Bob Buckles, Thompkin Buckles and Conley Buckles; and one sister, Edna Parlier.

Vada had worked as a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She most enjoyed taking care of her husband of 66 years, sewing, cooking and gardening.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her loving husband of 66 years, Carl Moore, of the home; her son, Carl Wayne Moore, of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Carla Reeser and husband Clinton, of Johnson City, Erica Moore, of Charlotte, NC, Jeannie Puckett, of Elizabethton, and Ashley Anderson (Kelly), of Elizabethton; five great grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, Madison, Kinsley and Hayden. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Vada Buckles Moore will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Mark Street, officiating. Music will be provided by Bridget Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Thursday.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hillview Health Center and the nurses and staff of Amedysis Hospice for the love and care shown to Vada during her illness.
