Van Fair, age 53, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Van was born in Elizabethton to the late Ray and Betty McDonald Fair.

Van was a retired Sergeant for the Kingsport Police Department, having served 25 years. He attended Lone Oak Christian Church and loved to read and fish.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Fair, of the home; one son, Dawson Fair, of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Aubree Fair, of Elizabethton; a brother, Johnny Fair and his girlfriend, Kathy, of Johnson City; and his mother-in-law, whom he considered his mother, Erma Stevens, of Elizabethton.

A service to celebrate the life of Van Fair will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral HElizabethton with Mr. Tad Johnson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.

The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Honeycutt, Jess Fair, Brandon Collins, Bryant Collins, Bobby Collins and Friday Honeycutt. Roy Forbes will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
