Virginia Reynolds, age 96, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hospice of Middletown, in Middletown, Ohio. Virginia was born in Johnson County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Joel Ben and Nannie Wagner Dyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ben Dyer; one sister, Edith Farthing; three half-brothers; and four half-sisters.
Virginia had lived most of her life in Elizabethton, before moving to Ohio. She retired from North American Rayon, where she worked as a coning operator. She was a member of East River Park Christian church and loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and working in her flowers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Reynolds Barnett and Danny L. Barnett; a grandson, Damon Barnett and wife Renee; a granddaughter, Ginny Barnett Patten and husband Eric; one great granddaughter, Olivia Barnett; two great grandsons, Bryce Cody Barnett and Caleb Lynn Patten; two sisters, Elizabeth Garner and Wilma Ruthledge; and one step son, Larry Reynolds. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Virginia Reynolds will be conducted at 4:30 PM on Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. John Smith, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Mary Smith. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday.
The committal and entombment service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM on Monday.
