Virginia Ruby Grindstaff, age 82, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Virginia was born in Unicoi, Tennessee to the late Robert and Hazel Davis Banks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Grindstaff; and four sons, Larry Grindstaff, Perry Grindstaff, Randy Grindstaff and James Grindstaff.
Virginia retired from North American Rayon Corporation and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Billy Joe Grindstaff; seven grandchildren, Anthony Grindstaff, Jason Grindstaff and wife Melissa, April Grindstaff, John Grindstaff, Kristen Grindstaff, Dusty Grindstaff, and Michael Grindstaff; several great grandchildren; and one brother, Ron Crowe.
A service to celebrate the life of Virginia Ruby Grindstaff will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday.
The committal and entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
