Wendy Michelle McKinney, 40, Elizabethton passed away Monday September 24, 2018. She was born February 3, 1978 in Elizabethton. Wendy was a 1996 graduate of Hampton High School and a 2004 graduate of East Tennessee State University. She taught school for a few years, but liked working in the Food Service work at Arby’s as assistant manager. Her hobbies were watching The Vols Basketball games attending the home games. She also liked watching the Tennessee Titans.

She loved traveling and going to movies (star wars mostly). Wendy was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Terry McKinney and her grandparents:  Lester “Buck” & Louise Deloach and Ollie & Elvina McKinney.

Survivors include her mother: Sue Deloach McKinney. A brother: Jeff McKinney of the home. Several aunts, uncles & cousins. Two special friends: Amy Hotelling and Shirley Davis.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Siebenaler, Minister officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Terry Taylor, Jerry Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Carl Miller, David Grindstaff and James Weir. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Employees of Arby’s of Elizabethton, Wellmont Cancer Center of Johnson City, graduates of Hampton High School class of 1996, Dustin Arnett, Steve McKinney, Billy Moore and Tyler Arnett. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Wendy to the Valley Forge Christian Church, 114 Valley Forge Christian Church Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.
