William R. “Billy” Hale, 58, Gray, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of Grace H. Fleenor and the late William E. Hale. Billy was a loving husband and father. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee.
Billy attended Redeemer Community Church and was involved in many children’s ministries, the United Emmaus Community, Kairos Prison Ministry and was a bold witness for God. He was also a member of the praise team and choir at HBC.
Billy enjoyed fly fishing, hiking, golf, football and was an avid UT and Cyclone fan.
In addition to his father, Billy is preceded in death by grandparents, Maetrue and Robert Nave and JW and Myrtle Hale.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 10 years, Becky Hale; two daughters, Maddy and Katie Hale; his mother and step-father, Grace and Dale Fleenor; a sister, Julie Hedges and husband, Bill; a brother in-law, Andrew Crawford and wife, Bekah; two nephews, Bennett Crawford and Joel Hedges and wife, Anna; a special mother-in-law, Brenda Crawford; and many special cousins and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts for Maddy and Katie Hale’s school tuition may be sent to Providence Academy, 2788 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.
The family requests the honor of your presence at a Celebration of Life service for Billy at 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City, with Pastor John Fooshee officiating.
The family will greet friends to share memories from 3:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be Kevin Sheffield, Troy Nave, Steve Humphries, Terry King, Mark Keene and Andrew Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be TJ Koscak, Chris Roberson, Fryde Huneycutt, Paul Jenks, David Bush and Elizabethton High School Class of ’74. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM.
