Robert “Bob” Richenberg, 79, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 5, 2011, at his home, following a brief illness. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Carl F. and Mary Helsdon Richenberg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Richenberg, and his daughter-in-law, Donna Richenberg. Mr. Richenberg was a graduate of Corfu Central High School in Corfu, N.Y. He was the former owner of a local newspaper, “Newsleader,” which he published in Clermont, Fla. He retired in 1998 and moved to Tennessee with his family. Mr. Richenberg enjoyed drag racing with his family, loved his pet dogs, and was active in Relay for Life. He was a member of Hampton Christian Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Cora Ann Schuler Richenberg, of the home; three daughters, Kathleen Liles and her husband, Robert, Pam Richenberg and Cheryl Anne Richenberg; two sons, Dan Richenberg and his wife, Karen, and Michael Richenberg, all of Hampton; a granddaughter, Brandi Paladino; three great-grandchildren, Noelani, Chance and Haylie, all of Hampton; a sister, Janet Conner and her husband, Wendall, of Texas; two brothers, Carl Richenberg and his wife, Virginia, of New York, and David Richenberg and his wife, Lorelei, of New York; and a sister-in-law, Renee Richenberg, of New York. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Richenberg will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, August 8, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, and at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. It was Bob’s preference that no flowers be sent, rather, donations be made to Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton, TN 37658.
