Mrs. Susan R. Hopson, 48, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Bill Blevins of Elizabethton and the late Emma Jean Holman Blevins and was born in Greeneville, Tenn.
Mrs. Hopson was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include her husband of 32 years, Wayne Hopson, of the home; two brothers, Shane Blevins and his wife, Carolyn, Elizabethton, and Stacy Blevins and his wife, Barbara, Johnson City; and her three special pets, Buddy, Prissy and Jessica. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hopson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Bill Greene. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park and will be under the direction of her brother, Shane, and Pastor Dennis Wilson. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jean Barnett, Shirley Shell, Barbara Blevins, Dillard and Shirlene Sholes and Dr. Paige Sholes. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
