Alan Lee Hubatka, 81, of Cary, N.C., died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Hospice of Wake County. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 200 S.E. Maynard Rd., Cary, N.C. 27511. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in Elizabethton, Tenn. Condolences may be sent to www.BrownWynneCary.com. Alan was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Linden, N.J., to the late Charles and Doris Paley Hubatka. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, N.J. Alan was employed with Bristol-Myers, retiring with over 30 years of service as the head of accounting and finance. He was a loving father and grandfather. Alan was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hubatka. He is survived by his companion, Peggy Carriger; children, Debby Hubatka Scott and her husband, John, of Zebulon, N.C.; Alan Hubatka and his wife, Sandy, of Houston, Texas, and Diane Hubatka Colgan and her husband, Naoise, of Westminster, Colo., and two grandchildren, Cian and Sarah Colgan.
