December 14, 2012, Angela Jacqueline Ward Little, one of those people who rekindled many of our inner spirits passed away after a long illness. Angie was born July 16, 1961, to Jackie Ward and Barbara Poe, in Mountain City, Tennessee.

She graduated from Johnson County High School and attended Walters State Community College and East Tennessee State University, earning her degree in nursing. In her 51 years, Angie touched many lives including her daughters, family, friends and the patients who she cared for over the years as a nurse. Angie was highly regarded as a nurse, nurse educator, and was respected by her peers. Helping people and amateur photography were two of her many passions.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mountain City. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Georgia Ward and James and Marie Pennington.

Survivors include her father, Jack Ward of Mountain City; her mother, Mrs. Barbara Poe and husband, Curtis, of Shady Valley; twin daughters, Ashley Litz and Amanda Litz, both of Johnson City; her former husband, Chris Little and daughter, Breanna Little, of the home; two brothers, Mark Ward and wife, Tonya, of Bristol, Tenn.; and John Desmond “Desie” Ward and wife, Angie, of Mountain City;  nieces, Addison Ward and Sheena Ward Johnson and husband, Jeremy, both of Mountain City; a niece and nephew, Nicholas and Sophie Ward, of Kansas City, Mo.; one great niece and nephew; and her special friends, Jack and Donna Stout of Newberry, Fla.; and the late Margaret Campbell.

The funeral service for Ms. Little will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton, with the Rev. Lon Tobin officiating. The family will receive friends from  5 to 7 p.m.  prior to the service in the funeral home chapel or at the home of her former husband, Chris Little, 165 Clay Little Road, Elizabethton, or at the home of the twins, Ashley and Amanda Litz, 1811 West Lakeview Drive, Apt. D-4, Johnson City, at any other time. The committal and entombment will be conducted on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Ledford, Jeremy Johnson, Marty Litz and Jack Stout.
