PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Ann Givan, 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2011. Formerly from Elizabethton, Tenn., and Sarasota, Fla., she was a resident of Port Charlotte, Fla. Born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Harry Wilson Givan; her parents, Beryl Delight Mottern and Sheldon Ward Moore; and her brother, Dwight Maugans Moore. After retirement Ann and her husband, Harry, spent many years traveling in their motor home fulfilling their long-time dream of visiting National Parks. Mrs. Givan was a Sunday school teacher and member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton, Tenn., for many years. She delivered food for the Meals on Wheels program in Carter County. An accomplished and creative seamstress, she had received awards for her quilting.

Mrs. Givan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jon Bednerik of Punta Gorda, Fla.; her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Lana Givan of Bay Village, Ohio; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Shawn and Lauren Givan of Toledo, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Lydia Anne Bednerik of the San Francisco Bay area.

There will be a memorial service at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, Tenn., on Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton.
