Mrs. Arlie Perry Shell, 98, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lou Holden Perry and was born in Carter County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.T. Shell; a grandson, Michael Stover; three brothers, Lloyd Perry, Lawrence Perry and Harold Perry; four sisters, Viola Shell, May Ellis, Essie Hoss and Oakie Palmer.

Mrs. Shell was a member of Pinecrest Christian Church, where she and her late husband were active and Charter Members. She was talented in quilting, crocheting and crafts. She loved gardening, flowers and traveling. She was an excellent homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Those close to her will always remember her for her humor.

She is survived by her children, Ralph Shell and his wife, Ada Jo, Johnson City, Albert Shell and his wife, Marian, Blountville, Alice Loveless and her husband, Ted, Johnson City; grandchildren, Bill Shell and his wife, Ashley, David Shell and his wife, Suprena, great-granddaughters, JoAnn and Courtney; grandchildren, Walter Shell and his wife, Tina, Mark Stover and his wife, Caryn, and great-grandson, Garrett Stover. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Shell will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Tad Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Pinecrest Christian Church, 124 Woodland Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
