Arthur Beryl Ward, 79, Elizabethton passed away Saturday June 16, 2012 at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ella Ward Lytton.

He was a 1953 graduate of Hampton High School.

Mr. Ward was a retired truck driver having worked for Beaunit Fibers, Mason-Dixon Tank Lines and was self-employed for the last few years.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed camping, antique cars and spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict serving in Austria.

Survivors include his wife of thirty seven years: Lena Holtsclaw Ward. Two Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Judy & Gary Hatley, and Annette & Doug McCloud all of Elizabethton. Two Grandsons: J.B. Hatley and wife Tori and Brandon McCloud. Two Great Granddaughters: Anna Grace Hatley and Andria Gwyn Hatley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Entombment Service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mausoleum of Peace Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday will be: J.B. Hatley, Gary Hatley, Glen Maney, Brandon McCloud, Doug McCloud,and Terry Hatley.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
