Bernie Sue Birchfield, 65, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Bernie and Lou Nell Birchfield and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Jack V. Farmer and a son, Gary Farmer.
Mrs. Birchfield was retired from Snap-On Tools and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Michael Lawson, Elizabethton; Jill and Bob Burrow, Hampton; Linda and Jamie Story, Erwin; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Joann Willison, CO; Dimple Church, Elizabethton; Maxine Lewis, Hampton; Tammy Bowers, Johnson City; and Rachel Birchfield; Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive as well as all her special friends at Snap-On Tools, Johnson City.
The funeral service for Mrs. Birchfield will be conducted on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service or at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Bob Burrow, 206 Rittertown Road, Hampton at other times.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Michael Lawson, Bob Burrow, James Story, Cody Farmer, Travis Williams and Gary Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony White, Josh White and Cory Lawson. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
