Bessie Taylor Hardin, 86, Elizabethton loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home of Friday, June 1, 2012, where she had been constantly surrounded by the care of her loved ones since her illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Jess Thomas and Maggie Kress Taylor. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Hardin Watts, grandson, Clinton Watts; brothers and sister: Dude Taylor, Chig Taylor, Vernon Taylor, Jay Taylor, Gilbert Taylor and Edie Taylor Garland.

Mrs. Hardin was a former employee of Dino’s Restaurant and had worked there for 27 years. She also had worked at North American Rayon Corporation, Giant Supermarket and Corner Market.

She had lived in Elizabethton all of her life and was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years: Calvin Hardin; sons: C.B. Hardin and wife, Candy of Hampton and Lt. Col. Chris Hardin (retired) and wife, Cindy of Knoxville; a daughter, Dena Hardin Korczyk and husband, Steve of Conyers, Georgia; grandsons: Matthew Hardin and wife Tanya, Scott Korczyk, Jack Hardin and Joshua Hardin; granddaughter: Stevi Korczyk Wheeler and husband Ben; great grandchildren: Gavin Hardin, Ian Hardin and Lindsay Hardin; one sister, Annis Taylor Deal, Elizabethton; and one brother, Lemmie Taylor and wife, Sandra a of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews cousins survive. A special caregiver, Pat Ingram, and loving friend, Jennifer Fleenor Sizemore and her family.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell and Rev. Doug Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.Active Pallbearers will be Matthew Hardin, Dwayne Taylor, Randy “Chopper” Ingram, George Miller, Justin Miller, Jessee Joe Buckles, Phillip Nave and Tony Sizemore.
