Bettie S. Treadway, 65, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bessie Hinkle Richardson and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Treadway, and three brothers, Bobby, Gene and Burl Richardson.
Mrs. Treadway is survived by two daughters, Mildred “Flo†Rodriguez, Elizabethton, and Elizabeth Godsey, Hampton; a son, Kebo Oliver, Hampton; six grandchildren, Regina Godsey, Jessica Presley, Amber Gibson, Sylvia Oliver Boyd, Eric Rodriguez and Alicia Rodriguez; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ike Richardson, Elizabethton, and Guy David Richardson, Morristown; a sister, Carrie Reed, Hampton; and a special nephew, Dennis Birchfield, Roan Mountain. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Treadway will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, and at the home of her daughter, Mildred “Flo†Rodriguez, at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Lyons and Larry Lyons.
