Betty Jenelle Lewis, 47, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at her residence, following an extended illness.

Ms. Lewis was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Wayne and Ruth Williams Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Gary Lewis.

Ms. Lewis was a former bank teller for both Sun Trust Bank and Carter County Bank and was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. She was a 1984 graduate of Elizabethton High School and loved to read and cook.

Survivors include a son, Andrew Lewis, of the home; two brothers, Steve Lewis, Johnson City, and Eddie Lewis, Elizabethton; two nieces, Aarron Jack, Elizabethton, and Jessi McComas, Knoxville; two special aunts, Linda Osborne, Elizabethton, and Jane Dunkelberg, Bevard, N.C.; special cousins, Mary Hodge and Becky Holland, both of Elizabethton; and a half sister, Suzanne Miller, Cairns, Australia.

The funeral service for Ms. Lewis will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 6, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Dr. Don Marshall officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The committal and entombment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Brent Nidiffer, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Rick Moore, Robbie Garrison, Alan Taylor, Tra Bradley, Duncan Hodge, Jack Holland and Gov Emmert. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors, teachers and staff of West Side Elementary School and the EHS Class of 1984. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
