Beulah Marie Cordell, 88, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

Born December 10, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Jacob B. and Mamie Banner Lunceford. She attended the Elk Mills High School. Mrs. Cordell was a retired Nursing Assistant at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. She was a member of the Hunter First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Miller; and a brother, Freeman Lunceford.

Survivors include her husband: Glen Cordell; Two Sons: Emery and Freida and Dale and Pam; Six Grandchildren: Bob Cordell, Michelle & Husband, Joe Taylor, Crystal Cordell, Carrie Larkin & husband, Johnnie, Robin and husband, Jamie Peters, and Bethany Turbyfill; Seven Great Grandchildren: Heather Cordell, Garrett & Reid Taylor, Corey & Mikala Larkin, Haley Turbyfill & Carson Peters; One Sister: Helen Davis, Hampton; Several nieces & nephews.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister, officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Great Grandson Carson Peters and his father, Jamie, will provide music at the graveside. Gail Evans, Earl Dugger and Cherish Miller will provide the music for the Memorial Service. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday, will be: Bobby Cordell, Tommy Lyons, Joe Taylor, Jamie Peters, Gene Murphy, Dan Britt, Tony Wilson and David Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be: Clarence Reed, James Ferguson, Glen Bare, Mack McClellan and Kenneth Miller.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” for the compassion and loving care given by the second floor nurses and nursing assistants at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, also to Ms, Jewell Woods, Ne’lea Dotson, her special nurses, Patty Cordell & Audrey Smith, to Mrs. Judy Deloach thank you for loving her and for providing such excellent care, also thanks to Angela Johnson, RN, and all of the third floor nursing staff and to her ICU Nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
