Blanche Guy Perkins, 130 Perkins Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Guy and Lillie Trivette Guy Hubbard.
Blanche was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had the gift of hospitality and everyone was made to feel welcome at her home. She was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Perkins; a granddaughter, Rebecca Perkins; a sister, Martha Honeycutt; and a brother, Chester Guy.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Vance and her husband, Larry; and two sons, Edward Perkins and wife, Shirley, and David Perkins and wife, Tina, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Michael Vance and wife, Jennifer, Laura Lemberger and husband, Ken, Frank Perkins and wife, Lisa, Kendra Perkins and Jon Perkins and four great-grandchildren, Lilly Vance, Andrew Vance, Richard Lemberger, and Mckenzie Perkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service for Mrs. Blanche Guy Perkins will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Michael Vance, Frank Perkins, Jon Perkins, Richard Lemberger, Eddie Sams, Larry Vance and Marvin Honeycutt. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Friday for the service.
