Bonnie Beatrice Estep

image Bonnie Beatrice “Bea” Estep, 91, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Courtner Hodge.

Mrs. Estep was a graduate of Hampton High School. In her earlier years she was employed at North American Rayon Corporation, North Electric and in the cafeteria at Hunter Elementary School.

Mrs. Estep was a longtime member of Hunter United Methodist Church. She was a member of Sycamore Chapter #163, Order of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, William Earl Estep, and two sisters, Wornoma White and Euna Taylor.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ayers, Elizabethton; a son, Larry J. Estep, Bluff City; four grandchildren, Robin Ayers and fiancé Kenneth Pack, Beth Hughes and husband Mike, Bill Ayers and wife Penny and Amy El-Shinnawy and husband Ihab; three great-grandsons, Gary Joe Malone, Cody Ayers and Austin Ayers; a great-great-grandson, Cain Malone; a sister, Frances Powell of Florida; and her special and caring friend, Robert Johnson.

The funeral service for Mrs. Estep will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Burkhart officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, will be Austin Ayers, Cody Ayers, Gary Joe Malone, Robert Johnson, Mike Hughes and Kenneth Pack. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
