C.L. Grindstaff, 84, Elizabethton went to meet our Lord, Thursday August 2, 2012 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Dan & Alice Hardin Grindstaff. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Grindstaff retired from ITT, Gray. He was a member of the Valley Forge Christian Church, V.F.W. Post 2166 and American Legion Post 49.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by nine brothers & sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 ••• years, Kathleen Simerly Grindstaff; a son and daughter-in-law: Keith & Helen Grindstaff, Bristol, Tenn; granddaughter: Holly Briscall and husband, Jeremy, Bluff City; granddaughter, Mia Gardner and husband Michael, Bristol, Tenn.; god daughter, Ginger Deloach and husband Tony, Elizabethton; granddaughter, Heather Hopland and husband Kenny, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Curry Deloach, Johnson City; three great granddaughters and five great grandsons. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Siebenaler and Mr. Clay Bailey, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.Music will be provided by Gail Campbell. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Valley Forge Christian Church. Military honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
