Carroll B. Markland, 90, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, in the Hermitage Health Center.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William & Bessie Smith Markland. He was retired from the United States Navy. He served in the Navy during World War II. He also was retired from Medical Sales.

Mr. & Mrs. Markland have lived in Elizabethton for the past three years. His hobbies were model railroads, fishing, watching the Florida Gators and the Atlanta Braves. He was a Mason. Mr. Markland was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Brunswick, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife of sixty seven years, Dorothy Peoples Markland; Two Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Carola & Gary Walker, Newark, Ohio, and Cathy & Edwin McKeehan, Roswell, Georgia; Four Grandchildren: Marc Logazino, Brett Logazino and wife, Jodie, Melissa McKeehan and Alicia Scott and husband, Michael; Six Great Grandchildren: Gavin, Lauren, Brennan, Araya, Wyatt & Jackson; One Sister: Katherine Lovegrove, Oak Ridge; Several Nieces & Nephews; Sister-in-Law: Patsy Smith and husband, Jimmy.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday June 9, 2012, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Greg Key, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
