Celestene B. Franklin, 86, Elizabethton passed away Thursday November 25, 2010 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Roan Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Thomas & Legusta Shell. She was a life long member of the Valley Forge Christian Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Franklin loved her family and friends very much and loved for people to visit her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Millard O. Franklin 2001, three brothers: Vernon Shell of Roan Mountain, Thomas Junior Shell of Elizabethton and Carl Shell of Cranberry, North Carolina and three sisters: Christine Shell and Arlene Smith of Roan Mountain and Gladys Miller of Elizabethton.
Survivors include Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Thomas E. & Shirley Franklin, Elizabethton who were also her caregivers and Randy & Debbie Franklin, Lake Wells, Florida. Three Grandchildren: Timothy Franklin, Bristol, Teresa Lawson and husband Jerry, Kristi Davis and husband Chris of Elizabethton. One Step-Granddaughter: Amy Weimerskirk of Florida. Five Great Grandchildren; Nathanyal Lawson, Preston Davis, Karrigan Davis, Brylee Davis and Brady Weimerskirk. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Siebenaler and Mr. Clay Bailey Ministers officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Joel Crisp and Gail Campbell.
Active Pallbearers will be: Jerry Lawson, Timothy Franklin, Wayne McKinney, Danny Bennett, Nathaniel Lawson, and Charles Miller. Honorary Pallbearer will be Preston Davis.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Sunday until the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence of a son & daughter-in-law: Tom & Shirley Franklin.
