Charlotte Goss Stallard, age 90, of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband and daughter on Friday, August 3, 2012 at her residence. She was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late Claude and Bess Peoples Goss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bruce Stallard, one daughter, Tina Stallard and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Hathaway.
Mrs. Stallard was a homemaker. She was a member and attended Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, TN. At the age of twelve, she began working with the youth in the various churches that she attended during her lifetime. She was active as a Girl Scout leader in Elizabethton and Greeneville for many years. She was a member of the Greene County Historical Society, a supporter of the Greene County Library, an active participant with Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at Rocky Mount Museum.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Brummit and her husband, Frank, Kingsport; a niece, Ann McKenna, Hawaii; a great niece, Molly McKenna, Chicago, IL; numerous cousins; six very special friends, Brenda Grindstaff, Tammie Ford, Vera Holtsclaw, Donna Miller, Victoria Ford and Gayle Pierce, all of Carter County; and four special friends, Betsy Bowman, Greeneville; Priscilla Clark and Lyndt Willett, both of Johnson City; and Jean Vaughn and her husband, Ray, Georgia.
The graveside service for Mrs. Stallard will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 7th at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 AM on Tuesday.
