Mr. Clifford H. Hamilton, of Elizabethton, left this earthly home for a better place from the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, as a result of complications of an accident on October 9, 2011.

He was the son of the late William and Nannie Hulse Hamilton and was born in the Boones Creek area of Washington County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlie E. Hamm Hamilton, on February 13, 2003; two daughters, Virginia Lee Combs, Norma Jean Yacker; three brothers, Paul Hamilton, who died in infancy, Arthur Hamilton and Robert E. Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton retired from General Mills in Johnson City in 1980 after thirty-two years of service. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Johnson City, and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center. He loved to sing and play the guitar.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Anita Lewis, Johnson City; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one step-granddaughter; a very special friend, Barbara Berry, Elizabethton; and special friends, Charles Dean VonCannon and his wife, Shirley, Johnson City.

The funeral service for Mr. Hamilton will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 2:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Rev. Sherrel Nave, Rev. James Cambron and Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Music will be under the direction of Greer Craig and David Arney.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the funeral service in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Paul Comstock, Bill Bayes, Bobby McNeil, Charles Dean VonCannon, Bobby Hamilton and David Mascioli.
