On July 2, 2013, a little Angel entered into the kingdom of Heaven. Coty Lynn Stines, Elizabethton, died unexpectedly at his residence. Coty was such a sweet and loving little child of God. He loved riding his tricycles and big wheels out in the yard. He loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, loved dancing and most of all he loved his family, unconditionally. Coty was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, John Stines; his great-grandmother, Lucille Stines; and his maternal great-grandmother, Willene Slagle. Survivors include his mother, Jeannie Stines, of the home; his father, James Cox, Elizabethton; two sisters, Cassie Guinn and Kaitlyn Stines, both of the home; and one brother, Corey Paine, of the home; his maternal grandparents, Phyllis Slagle, Elizabethton; and Tommy Stines, Elizabethton; paternal grandparent, Pam Day, Hawthorne, FL; and a very special great-aunt, Judy Slagle, Elizabethton. Several aunts, uncles, and special cousins and friends also survive. A celebration of Coty’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Jerry Davis and the Rev. Estelle Williams, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday. The graveside service will follow in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
