Conley Burchfield, 97, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William and Betty Hyder Burchfield. Mr. Burchfield had worked for many years at the American Bemberg Corporation. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Lovada Quillen Burchfield, December 4, 2000; by a daughter: Wanda Burchfield; a son: Kyle Burchfield; a grandson: Phillip Paul Burchfield; one sister; and six brothers.
Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Gail & John Perkins and Charlotte & Irby Jones, all of Elizabethton; Six Sons: Jack Burchfield, Phillip Burchfield and wife, Pauline, and Ray Burchfield and wife, Tina, all of Elizabethton, Wayne Burchfield and wife, Susie, South Carolina, Lynn Burchfield and wife, Linda, Watauga, and Gary Burchfield, Johnson City; 28 Grandchildren; several great & great great grandchildren; Several nieces & nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. John Perkins officiating. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
