image Corinne “Aunt Jo” Baker Wilcox, 91, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Hicks and Alice Morris Davis.

Mrs. Wilcox was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She retired from IBM, Green Castle, Ind., where she had lived for 40 years. She returned to Elizabethton a number of years ago.

Mrs. Wilcox was a member of First Baptist Church of Elizabethton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Baker; her second husband, Fred Wilcox; five brothers, Charles, Bill, I.B., Mack and George Davis; two sisters, Juanita Elliott and Viola Sheffield; and a special nephew, Danny Ray Elliott.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie L. Baker, Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Velma Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilcox will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope. Music will be provided by Leanne Manning, soloist. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Hermitage Health Center and Dr. Robert Walter for the excellent care she received during her stay there. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Condolences to the Wilcox family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
