image ELIZABETHTON — Ms. Corinne Sharp, 83, Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late James Kelley and Kate Fleming Sharp and was born in Carter County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fanny Belle Sharp Suggs.

Ms. Sharp was retired from the Johnson City Specialty Hospital and a former employee of Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton where she was very active and was the church historian. She served as secretary to the board and various other committees. She was also very active in the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading, gardening and doing needle crafts.

Ms. Sharp is survived by two sisters, Mary E. Sharp and Alice Sharp, both of the home; a niece, Amanda Libbey and her husband, Chris, Alpharetta, GA; Woodward Williams, III, of Columbia, SC, the husband of her deceased niece Rebecca Williams; a great-nephew, Benett Williams, Columbia, SC; a great-niece, Greer Libbey, Cambridge, MA; several cousins, including Larry and Ann Utt, Blountville. Her special neighbors, Sandy and Paul Blowers also survive.

The Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Sharp will be conducted on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Lauri Jo Cranford officiating. Music will be under the direction of David and Becky Hale.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2:00-3:00 PM Friday prior to the service and at the residence at other times.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Utt, Sam Shipley, Jim Hardin, David Wortman, Larry Bandarra, Andrew Bentley and Stan Bentley. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles “Dude” LaPorte, Carroll Broom, Manuel Bandarra, Paul Blowers, Gayle Hood and her church family, friends and neighbors.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the Johnson City Medical Center hospice and home health aides for all the love and care shown to Corinne.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to First United Methodist Church, 325 East E. Street, Elizabethton, Tennessee, 37643.
