Darlie C. Hyder, 85, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in the Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie & Lockie Hilman Tolley. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments after 18 years of service, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church.

She loved to garden, read and work in her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Hyder; two sisters: Leafie Payne, Alpha Tipton; and three brothers: Mack, Julius, Paul Tolley.

Survivors include her daughter: Sandra Forbes and fiancé, Jimmy Stevens; Her sisters & brothers who she dearly loved: Shirl Davis, Geneva Roberts, of Hampton, and Mahala Hampton, of Alabama; Three Brothers: Wade Tolley and wife, Linda, Herman Tolley and wife, Shonette, and Jack Tolley, all of Hampton; Several nieces & nephews; A Sister-in-law: EllaJay Tolley; Her extended special family, The Hyder Family; Her special friends: Bob & Nancy Fillers, George & Brenda Roberson.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sam Ferguson officiating.

Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by her niece, Sheridan Seigler. Active Pallbearers will be: Myron Hyder, Bob Fillers, Tim Davis, Hershel Scalf, George Roberson, Billy Jack Tolbert, Marvin “Buck” Johnson, Danny Cole and Glen Roy Cates. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her many special friends and special family members who have visited, made phone calls and helped her in many ways.

For all the excellent care and loved shown to our family, I express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Pine Ridge Care Center.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter.
