David Christian Oliver Owens, 39, Limestone, passed away at his residence, Saturday April 28, 2012.

A native of Carter County, he was of Scotts-Irish descent. David was a son of Charles Edward Owens, Blountville and Janie Alice Oliver, Johnson City. He grew up in South Florida. He was a graduate of Ball State University, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was employed as a Welding Engineer with Tradesman International. David was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his three children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Oliver and Ora Woods Estep, cousin, Russell Travis Carter and several aunts & uncles.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancé Michelle Renee Hughes; Three Children: Andrew, Joshua & Jonathan; a brother & sister-in-law, Daniel & Stacy Owens; a special sister, Tami Price; nephews: Cameron Reece Owens and Christian Tyler Thomas; His Aunts: Mary Sue Carter and her husband, Eulace Carter, Jr., Linda Oliver Rainbolt and a special aunt, Mary Lou Estrada; One uncle, Phil Dean White; and cousins: Melissa Carter, Penny Carter, April Smith, Patrick Rainbolt and Preston Carter. Several friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Owens will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton with Pastor Craig Ponder and Pastor Bobby Joe Barker officiating.

A Committal and Entombment will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with music provided by Jon Shell, Piper. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:50 p.m. Thursday will be: Daniel Owens, Charles Owens, Mike Bush, Bobby Joe Barker and Phil White. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Stacy Owens, his sons, Andrew, Joshua and Jonathan, Todd Rust, Brent Kagel & Jayden Thompson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:50 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
