Miss Della Belle Edwards, 87, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Gus Lee and Laura Hassie Morgan Edwards. Miss Edwards was retired from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cephas Edwards, and four sisters, Eleanor Edwards, Grace Edwards, Valda Martin and Bea Carden. Miss Edwards is survived by several nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law.
The funeral service for Miss Edwards will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 21, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be her brother-in-law, James Carden Sr. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Elizabethton Church of Christ, 137 E. C Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
