Donald W. Bolling, 77, of Elizabethton, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN, following an extended illness. He was the son of the late J.C. Bolling, Sr. and Nora Fox Bolling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Fergus; one brother, Gene Bolling; and one sister, Phyllis Denton.
Mr. Bolling was a born in Washington County, Virginia, but had lived in Carter County for the past thirty seven years. He was a retired employee of Lance Snack Foods and was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. He loved lawn work and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of thirty seven years, Delores Whitehead Bolling, of the home; a step son, David Ledford, of the home; two half-sisters, Mrs. Kay Bowman and husband Benny, Bristol, TN; and Gay Hopkins and husband Ray, VA; one half-brother, J.C. Bolling, Jr. and wife Melba, Bristol, VA; a daughter, Donna Sue Cunningham and husband Dave, Greeneville, TN; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rev. Ronnie and Lorraine Edwards, Elizabethton; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bolling, Largo, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The celebration of life service for Mr. Bolling will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be provided by Larry Adams, Dale Williams, and Cathy Wilson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday; or at the residence at anytime.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Larry Adams, Bobby Heaton, and Frank Eads. Active pallbearers will be John Hayes, Doug McCloud, Randy Wilson, Paul Bellamy, John Allen, Frank Eads, Robert Groce, Matt Carr, and Tom Houghton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Remigiusz Switalski, Rev. Ronnie Edwards, Rev. Benny Bowman, Glen Church, Cecil Eggers, the church family of Lynn Valley Baptist Church, nephews and nieces, Dr. Jonathan Bremer, Dr. John Bertuso, the staff of CVA-Holston Valley Medical Center, friends and neighbors, and all the members of Fellowship Sunday School Class of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 1:15 PM on Saturday, to go in procession.
