Donatilde “DonnaT” Bandarra, 80, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Bandarra was born in St. Miguel, Azores in Portugal to the late Antonio P. and Mary Costa. Mrs. Bandarra had worked as a food demonstrator and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Ladies Guild and volunteered at the James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Manuel Bandarra, of the home; two sons, Michael Thomas Bandarra, Charlotte, NC, and Larry Lee Bandarra and his fiancée, Racheal Bowling, Elizabethton; three sisters, Alice Correia and Lillian Brennan, both of Bridgeport, CT, and Agnes Gonsalves, West Warehame, MA; and one grandson, Michael Scott Bandarra, Elizabethton.
The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Bandarra will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Dennis Kress officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The committal and entombment will follow the Mass service on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Tom Manning, Richard Barker, Bob Peoples, Mike Hupko, Mike King and John Sheehan. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Batchelder, Dr. Ric Martin and Dr. Keith Cook.
