HAMPTON — Doris Margie Norris Davis, 78, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord Friday, May 20, 2011, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Mamie Johnson Norris. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the S.H. Kress Company. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church but attended the Oakdale Free Will Baptist Church, Bluff City, where her son is pastor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

She loved to work in her garden and read.

Survivors include her husband: Bill Davis. A Son: Rev. Troy Davis, of the home. Two Sisters: Barbara Miller, Hampton, and Alice Shell and her husband, Carroll, Elizabethton; Three Brothers & Five Sisters-In-Law: Roger & Margie Norris, Bakersville, North Carolina, Benny & Bobbie Norris, Elk Park, North Carolina, Gerald “Joe” & Carolyn Norris, Elizabethton, Joyce Norris, Erwin, and Kathy Norris, Johnson City; Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shane Waters and Rev. Jimmy Holtsclaw officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Mr. Jeff Norris. Active Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church and members of the Oakdale Free Will Baptist Church, friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Davis to the Building Fund, Oakdale Free Will Baptist Church, â„… Charles Arnold, 3986 Highway 390, Bluff City, Tenn. 37618.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
