Mrs. Dorothy M. Hale, 89, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in Orlando. She was the daughter of the late William Robert and Mary Belle Buckner Matheney and was born in Lewis County, Tenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Hight Sr., in 1968, and Ralph E. Hale, in 1992, and a son, Leroy “Buddy” Hight Jr., on April 26, 2008. Mrs. Hale was a member of East River Park Christian Church. She retired from Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton in 1995 following 27 years of service as an administrative assistant.

Mrs. Hale is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Hight Miller and her husband, Jerry Ray Miller, of Orlando, Fla., and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Julie Hale Hedges of Johnson City.

The committal service for Mrs. Hale will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 4, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. John Smith, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be the staff of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. Mr. Don Tetrick will be the honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
