Dorothy Burleson Perry, 76, Courtyard Apartments, Elizabethton passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William D. and Carrie Elliott Burleson. She was a 1954 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Mrs. Perry was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene, Elizabethton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Wade Perry, October 3, 2009, by a grandson: Jason Perry, Two Sisters: Helen Davis Roberts and Charlene Guess.

Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law: Jana & Howard Whaley, Elizabethton. Three Sons: William David “Bill” Perry and wife Chris, Farmington, New Mexico, James Allen Perry and Johnny Lynn Perry, both of Elizabethton. Two Granddaughters: Nicole Perry and Sarah Elizabeth Tester. A brother: David Burleson, Elizabethton. A special friend: Bill Bowling.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenley Knight officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the residents of Courtyard Apartments and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
