Dr. Gordon W. Ludolf, 79, Johnson City, entered into rest, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Dr. Ludolf was a native of Carter County and a resident of Johnson City for the past 50 years.
He was a son of the late Jake and Margaret Hayes Ludolf.
Dr. Ludolf earned his BS and MS degrees from ETSU and his PHD from Ohio State.
He was a professor of economics at Ohio State, Richmond University and ETSU and served as chairman of the economics department at ETSU. Dr. Ludolf also served as a labor arbitrator for several years.
Dr. Ludolf was a member of Central Baptist Church and served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was also a member of the Johnson City Rotary Club.
Survivors include three brothers, Ed Ludolf, Winston Salem, NC, Ken Ludolf, Greenville, SC and Jim Ludolf, Asheboro, NC , three nieces and three nephews.
The family of Dr. Ludolf will receive friends, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Tetrick Funeral Services from 3:00 pm until a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm. Dr. Ron Murray and Dr. Janice Shelton will officiate. Music will be provided by Debbie Odom.
Committal services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 300 North Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
