Dr. Joseph G. Earhart, 82, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 surrounded by his family.
He was born April 10, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. He was fortunate enough to marry two wonderful women, Billie and Rosemary, both of whom preceded him in death.
He graduated from East Tennessee State University. He later received a Doctorate of Education from Wayne State University.
He served in the US Army in the 1950’s. He was later employed by South Lake Schools in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where he remained for his entire career. He held positions as teacher, assistant principal, principal and retired as the Superintendent of the South Lake School district.
He spent the majority of his retirement years enjoying golf, playing cards and spending time with family.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Pam Earhart; grandson’s Mason and Logan, along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is planned for Friday, May 18, 2012, at 3 pm at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Johnson City, TN.
