Dwaine Price, 83, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Garfield Perry and Mazie Brooks Price and was born in Sabine, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Price was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Alloys Chemical in Cleveland Ohio. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Elizabethton and volunteered at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
Mr. Price loved to garden in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janice Wahl Price, of the home; two daughters, Deborah Steinke and her husband, Bruce, Nashville, Tenn., and Linda Price, Hinckley, Ohio; a son, Johnnie Price and his wife, Sharon, Brunswick, Ohio; four grandchildren, David Burleson, Tampa, Fla., Beverly Frazier, Elizabethton, Johnnie Price Jr., Brunswick, Ohio, and Brandon Price, Brunswick, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Eliana Burleson, Elizabethton, and Braden Burleson, Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Price and his wife, Peggy, Parma Heights, Ohio, and Elmer Price and his wife, Linda, Daniels W.Va.; and three sisters, Mary Boshell, Crystal Springs, Fla., Jean Smith, Elizabethton, and Carol Brown, Glenfork, W.Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Price will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Kenley Knight officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kristi Knight. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the home at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
