image Edith C. Woodring, 87, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Wes and Emma Goodman Carden. Mrs Woodring was retired from the Housekeeping Department of Carter County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the East Side Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank C. Woodring; an infant son, James Dean Woodring; two sisters: Sweetie Deloach and Nell Correll; and a brother, Brown Carden.

Survivors include Two Sons & Daughters-In-Law: Barry “Butch” & Carolyn Woodring, Elizabethton, and Dennis & Teresa Woodring, Johnson City; One Grandson: Mickey Woodring and his wife, Kim, Elizabethton; Two Great Grandchildren: Matthew and Rebecca Woodring.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Ernie Depew, Minister, officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, will be: Mickey Woodring, Matthew Woodring, Keith Carr, Hubert Stanbery, Howard Stanbery and Robert Woodring. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.M. Cullers and her church family.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Life Care Center and Dr. Vivian Clark for their excellent care of our mother.

To those who prefer memorials may be made in memory of Mrs Woodring to theNational Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Boulevard, Suite 2, Knoxville, Tn. 37917-1523; or the East Side Christian Church, 1400 Siam Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
