Maxine Dykes Harr, 86, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, in the Hermitage Health Center.

A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Cecil & Cleo Pleasant Dykes. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.

Maxine worked at the American Bemberg Corporation and also as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 2166 and Elizabethton Senior Citizens. She also volunteered as a “pink lady” at the Old Carter County Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Tim & Amy Harr, Cocoa, Florida; Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Susan & Gary Crim, Louisville, Kentucky, and Nancy & Gary Barrigar, Elizabethton; Two Grandchildren: Emily Williamson, Johnson City, and Melissa Harr, Cocoa, Florida; A Sister: Lois Elliott, Elizabethton.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Polk officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Hermitage Health Care for their excellent care and support throughout the six years that Maxine resided there.

To those who prefer, memorials may be made to the Carter County Humane Society, P.O. Box 134, Elizabethton, Tennessee 37644.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
