Ernie L. Norris Mr. Ernie Norris, 56, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord, on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the son of the Beryl and Joann Elliott Norris of Roan Mountain and was born in Carter County.
Mr. Norris was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He also worked with the youth of the church and he loved to fish and go four-wheeling. He was employed with Century Link for 38 years.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Pat Shell and her husband, Wayne, Roan Mountain; a brother, Harvey Norris and his wife, Brenda, Elizabethton; two nieces, Beth McLaughlin and her husband, Troy; Aleshia Cuthbertson and her husband, Claude, all of Roan Mountain; two nephews, Jason Norris and his wife, Jennifer, Knoxville; Lee Norris and his wife, Jennifer, Rumford, Maine. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
