Everett Lee Gass, 85, of Elizabethton passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Everett was born on April 28, 1926. He was the second of 12 children born to Charles Hardin Gass and Hazel Castell Gass.
Everett retired as District Manager for Dollar General Stores due to disability. Everett loved to garden and was eager to share his bounty with others. He honorably served his country in the United Stated Navy during World War II.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hardin & Hazel Lucille Casteel Gass, a Sister, Christine, and a Brother, Duane.
He is survived by six Brothers: William Ross and wife, Beulah of Yulee, Fla., Jim and wife, Jerry of Marietta, Ga., Lewis & wife, Brenda of Elizabethton, Michael and wife, Shea of Elizabethton, and Bob and wife, Pat of Mt Ulla, NC; Three sisters: Joan Brewer and husband, Carl of Bluff City, Alice Ramsey of Elizabethton, and Lois and Bill Schaff of Elizabethton. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Will Andrews officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from the brothers and bephews. Interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel and at the home of his brother, Michael, 173 Southgate Drive at other times.
