Mrs. Faye R. McGuire, 89, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Avery County, NC to the late John and Cora Sullivan Greer and had lived in Carter County since 1986. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart E. McGuire; a son, Tommy Ray McGuire; a sister, Gladys Kite and a brother, Tom Sullivan. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Scarlett Studley, Vero Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Amanda Bohner and Hannah Logan, both of Chattanooga, TN, and Trey Studley, Maplewood, NJ; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Hall and China Wishon, both of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Faye R. McGuire will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28th in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Bobby Stout and Rev. Charlie Biggs officiating. The music will be under the direction of Mr. Dean Palmer, soloist. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
