Flora “Bebe” Forbes, age 96, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mabel Hardin Forbes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include a niece, Barbara Williams and husband Darrell of Elizabethton; nephew, Randy Forbes and wife Nadine of Elizabethton; and special great-nephews, Wesley, Darrell Wayne and Randy, Jr. Flora retired from TPI after more than 25 years of service. She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to country music, and was a member of Carter Christian Church. Miss Forbes will lie in state on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, February 17, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, 101 East F Street, Elizabethton. Entombment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Pine Ridge Care Center, and Dr. Andrew Steven May.
