Frances Dorothy Jones, 89, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 16, 2011, at her residence following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Nola Nave Carriger. Mrs. Jones was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Jones, and a brother, John Carriger Jr.
Survivors include a nephew, John Benjamin Carriger, a great-niece, Kourtney Nicole Carriger, a sister-in-law, Dovie Carriger, and a special family friend, June Saults, all of Johnson City.
The funeral service for Mrs. Jones will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 19, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Charlie Biggs officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime Sunday and up until the service time on Monday. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
